Sling Consultations

Our library meets are very busy and we are not able to offer the same level of support we can at a consultation.  So if you need more time, have an issue requiring more specialist assistance or you would like the opportunity to explore particular aspects of slings and carriers you are interested in we recommend booking a consultation. There are several consultants in Gloucestershire. Details are below.

With 14 years professional experience, expertise in all aspects of babywearing safety, use of slings and carriers, skin to skin carrying and kangaroo care, feeding in slings, carrying premature or special needs babies, support for PND, post-natal anxiety and bonding.

As a new mum I suffered from severe post-natal anxiety throughout my daughter's first year.  I found babywearing helped me stay calm and enabled me to meet my daughter's needs even when I was having a tough time.   When my second daughter was born the sling was invaluable in helping her adjust to the world whilst keeping up with her big sister.  Wearing you toddler can be a great way to have adventures together too and I enjoyed carrying my youngest until she was 5 years old. She was diagnosed as autistic aged 10 and I think carrying her was a hugely valuable tool to her early development.

I founded the Cheltenham Sling Meet in 2009 and this developed to include sling hire eventually joining forces with Samantha Potter to form the Cheltenham and Gloucester Sling Library in 2012.

I began my career as a Cambridge educated specialist teacher of deaf and disabled children. My current job is with Active Impact, a local inclusion development charity. I am sign bilingual and can offer consultations in English or British Sign Language.  My Sling Consultancy training includes School of Babywearing UK (OCN Accredited) in 2012 and  Slingababy in 2014.
