Sling Consultations

Our library meets are very busy and we are not able to offer the same level of support we can at a consultation.  So if you need more time, have an issue requiring more specialist assistance or if you wish to have an hour dedicated to exploring the aspects of slings and carriers you are interested in we recommend booking a consultation.

ONE TO ONE CONSULTATIONS
Generally you would need 1 hour to look at basic options for the stage you are at, ie. newborn - 1yr, toddler-preschooler.  Or you can book an hours session to focus on one style of carrying and learn several ways to use them such as woven wraps, ring slings etc.  Below is a list of consultants who offer services locally.  You can find more at www.slingpages.co.uk

With 6 years professional experience, expertise in all aspects of babywearing safety, use of slings and carriers, skin to skin carrying and kangaroo care, feeding in slings, carrying premature or special needs babies, support for PND, post natal anxiety and bonding.

Consultations are available weekends and evenings at my home in Up Hatherley, convenient for the A40, A46 and M5 Jct 11.  Consultations cost £20 an hour.

As a new mum I suffered from post natal anxiety throughout my daughter's first year.  I found babywearing helped me stay calm and  enabled me to meet my daughter's needs even when I was having a tough time.  When I was stronger I continued to enjoy keeping my daughter close and we enjoyed many years of baby/toddler wearing.  When my second daughter was born the sling was invaluable in helping her adjust to the world whilst keeping up with her big sister.

I am passionate about the many benefits of natural parenting practices including Kangaroo Mother Care, Skin-to-Skin Contact, Breastfeeding, Baby Led Weaning and Baby Wearing.  I founded the Cheltenham Sling Meet in 2009 and this developed to include sling hire eventually joining forces with Samantha Potter to form the Cheltenham and Gloucester Sling Library in 2014.

I began my career as a Cambridge educated Special Educational Needs teacher, I am sign bilingual and can offer consultations in English or British Sign Language.  My Sling Consultancy training includes School of Babywearing UK (OCN Accredited) in 2012 and  Slingababy in 2014, I am a director of Kangaroo Care UK LTD, UK Distributors of Vija Design Kangaroo Care Clothing.
